Hi , I’m a sole trading carpenter with a registered active Abn my credit score is around 680 . I earn $120ph and pay out $32cash to my labourer from the $120 , that is including tax . I am just wondering if I would need financials or bas statements to apply for a credit card or could i just provide access to my banking statements ? I also do a lot of cash work for friends so my income doesn’t seem all that regular on paper however Iv always got plenty of work . What is the likely hood of me getting approved for this credit ?
Hi Adam,
Thanks for your inquiry.
Sorry for the delayed response. Most credit card companies vary when it comes to setting eligibility requirements and criteria. But generally, your approval will be based on their assessment of your income, credit rating and ability to repay.
As finder.com.au does not represent Westpac (or any other credit card company), we won’t be able to advise if you will be approved for a Westpac credit card or not. You’d be best if you contact Westpac directly and discuss your chances of approval before you submit your application. That way, you can avoid enquiries on your credit file and you’ll be able to keep it healthy.
Cheers,

if i use my earth black master card on a overseas holiday does the credit card travel insurance cover the costs of cancellations or accidents while i am overseas and which insurance company does westpac go through
Hi Vince,
Thanks for your question.
As your Westpac Black Earth MasterCard comes with complimentary travel insurance, so yes, you are covered for the international travel insurance for accidents and cancellations, provided that before you leave Australia on your overseas trip, you use your card to purchase your ticket and prepaid travel cost for at least AU$500.
The insurance company that provides the cover for Westpac cardholders is QBE Insurance.
Please feel free to read Westpac complimentary travel insurance guide to learn more details.
I hope this has helped.

May

Hi, I would like to apply for a $0 balance credit card. Paying out an Ignite account. This account was initially through Virgin credit cards, however, Westpac took over Virgin + it was changed to Ignite. Am I able to apply for $0 balance transfer from Westpac or do I need to go through another bank? I don’t consider myself an existing customer, as it was not Westpac whom we initially applied for the Virgin card. What is your knowledge of this?
Hi Jocelyn,
Thanks for your inquiry!
This balance transfer transaction would be incompatible since the Ignite card is under Westpac. Our handy guide on banks you can balance transfer to will serve as your reference before moving your balance to another card. You can also see a list of balance transfer credit cards to compare. Select Go to Site if you are ready to apply. Please ensure to read through the relevant product disclosure statement and terms and conditions to ensure that you got everything covered before applying.

Hi Adbul,
Thanks for your inquiry.
Westpac credit cards with AMEX are eligible to earn points for ATO payments. You may also refer to our guide to compare credit cards that have rewards points earnings, allow payments to the ATO, and see points per $1 for government charges.
Before applying, please ensure that you meet all the eligibility criteria and read through the details of the needed requirements as well as the relevant Product Disclosure Statements/Terms and Conditions when comparing your options before making a decision on whether it is right for you.
