Westpac Altitude Platinum Credit Card

Offers a competitive 130,000 bonus Altitude Points and a discounted $49 annual fee in the first year. But make sure the perks will justify the annual fee after that.

The Westpac Altitude Rewards Platinum Card earns between 1 and 3 points per $1 on eligible spending, with the highest earn rate offered to flights booked with Qantas or Jetstar. The current introductory offer also gives you enough points to get $450 cashback on your account, with other reward choices including gift cards, retail items and frequent flyer point transfers.

Expert review

The Westpac Altitude Platinum Credit Card is suited to points hunters looking for a modest rewards program and competitive annual fee (for this type of card). A key feature of its rewards is that you'll earn higher rates of points per $1 with partnered brands, including Qantas, Jetstar, Uber and Spotify Premium. Meanwhile, your regular spending on groceries and petrol will earn 1 Altitude Point per $1 spent.

You could also get gift cards, retail items, travel or transfer points to your Velocity Frequent Flyer, Singapore Airlines KrisFlyer, Asia Miles or Air New Zealand Airpoints account. Your bonus Altitude Points will be credited to your account within 12 weeks of meeting the spend criteria.

Hi, I had this card previously but cancelled it in December last year. Will I still be eligible for the Qantas points if I apply? Thanks!

      Hello Dos,

      Thank you for your comment.

According to the terms and conditions of Westpac Altitude Platinum Card, existing Westpac customers who currently hold an Earth Platinum, Earth Platinum Plus, Earth Black, Altitude Platinum or Altitude Black credit card, or who have held one in the last 12 months, are not eligible for this offer. Therefore, you’re not eligible to receive the bonus points if you reapply, unfortunately.

      Regards,
      Jhezelyn

What is cancellation fee for this Altitude Platinum credit card? Also if I apply for one more card from other bank, would that effect getting this
    Altitude Platinum credit card?

      Hi Muhammad,

Thank you for getting in touch with Finder.

There’s no cancellation fee if you cancel this card. If you apply for another credit card from a different bank, it will not affect your application for this card unless there are too many credit enquiries or card applications which results to a low credit limit.

Please make sure though to read the eligibility criteria, features, and details of the card, as well as the relevant PDS/ T&Cs of the card before making a decision and consider whether the product is right for you.

      I hope this helps.

Thank you and have a wonderful day!

      Cheers,
      Jeni

Eligible purchases do not include fees, cash, cash equivalent transactions, BPAY. Does this means bills (not through bpay) are ineligible?

      Hi Lozz,

      Thanks for your inquiry.

Yes, that’s correct. If you pay the bills direct from the providers and they would consider it as a “purchase”, then you would earn points for those payments. But when you pay your bills through BPAY, those are not considered as eligible purchases.

      Cheers,

      Hi Lozz,

Thanks for getting back. Yes, since payments through post office are not excluded. I would also suggest that you contact Westpac to get more information about earning of points on eligible purchases.

I currently have an American Express Platinum Edge, will that affect my eligibility for this offer? Or will it be fine because it’s a bank issued card?

      Hi ShaneM,

      Thank you for your inquiry.
