Travellers from Australia who are permitted to enter Vietnam must show a COVID-19 test certificate taken within three to five days before arrival. Aussies will also need to retest once in Vietnam.

Do I need to quarantine when I arrive in Vietnam?

Yes, all permitted Australian travellers must undertake a minimum of 14-21 days in quarantine at a government facility – those who test positive for COVID-19 will be sent to a hospital for treatment followed by a self-isolation period. In this case, travellers from Australia will undergo five retests and must come back with at least three consecutive negative results.

Australians should keep in mind that all costs of quarantine must be covered by the traveller or their employer.
