Where to shop Selena Gomez’s go-to evening beauty routine
We've rounded up every product the star actually uses including a bunch of Rare Beauty faves and a few affordable dupes.
Pop star, actress and now-beauty mogul Selena Gomez has just given us a peak into her makeup bag in the latest Vogue Beauty Secrets video. Selena launched her own cosmetics empire Rare Beauty this year, so she knows her stuff. If you want to recreate her quintessential nighttime look at home (because of course you do), we've rounded up every product in her arsenal and where you can shop it.
Naturally, Selena uses a helluva lot of Rare Beauty products which you can now shop at Sephora. Not every product is available in Australia though, so we've chucked in a bunch of accessible and affordable alternatives because we love ya.
1. Sephora Collection Clean Eye Mask | $6
Selena uses a Sephora Collection Cucumber Clean Eye Mask to calm down any puffiness. I can vouch that these babies work a treat and the best part is they're only 6 bucks. If you want to mix it up, the eye masks come in caffeine, pomegranate and watermelon too.
2. Tatcha Dewy Serum | $125
While she's waiting for the eye masks to do their magic, Selena gives her skin some glow with the Tatcha Dewy Serum. This 3-in-1 serum uses the power of lactic acid, hyaluronic acid and squalene to smooth fine lines, hydrate and lock in moisture.
Affordable option
$125 is a little pricey, so you could try the $12.90 The Ordinary Hyaluronic Acid 2% + B5 instead.
3. Rare Beauty Pore Diffusing Primer
Now that skincare is outta the way, Selena preps her face with the Rare Beauty Pore Diffusing Primer.
Accessible option
This particular product isn't available in Sephora Down Under yet, but you can try the Rare Beauty Always An Optimist Illuminating Primer ($45) instead. As well as smoothing your skin's texture, it also gives you a pearly shine to reflect light and even tone.
4. Rare Beauty Liquid Touch Weightless Foundation | $49
After a quick dance break, Selena goes in with the Rare Beauty Liquid Touch Weightless Foundation. She uses a fluffy brush to blend the foundation in a circular motion, giving a natural-looking and medium coverage.
Although this foundation is new to the game, it already has stellar reviews online. Loads of people have commented on the lightweight and easy-to-blend texture. It's also available in 48 shades so you can pick the perf colour for you.
5. Rare Beauty Liquid Touch Brightening Concealer | $33
Selena builds up the coverage under her eyes, on her lids with the Rare Beauty Liquid Touch Brightening Concealer. This bad boy also comes in 48 shades, which is a very good selection compared to some other beauty brands.
6. Brow Harmony Shape & Fill Duo | US$24
It's essentially a magic wand that contains all of your brow needs including a brush, angle brush and powder. The powder is waterproof and has a putty texture, meaning your brows will last all night long.
Accessible option
The bad news is that it isn't available in Australia yet. In the meantime, you could go with the trusty ol' Benefit Cosmetics Brow Styler Multitasking Pencil and Powder.
7. Rare Beauty Stay Vulnerable Liquid Eyeshadow | $34
Selena gives her lids a pop of colour with the Rare Beauty Stay Vulnerable Liquid Eyeshadow. I've never used a liquid eyeshadow, so I was very curious to see how this product turned out. It looks super pigmented and a bit intense when first applied but my god does it it blends out beautifully. The shadow is available in 5 shades, but Selena goes for the gorgeous and pinky Nearly Mauve shade.
8. Rare Beauty Perfect Strokes Matte Liquid Liner | $33
Selena nails a snatched cat eyeliner look using the Rare Beauty Perfect Strokes Matte Liquid Liner, which is an absolute staple in her nighttime beauty regiment.
9. Rare Beauty Perfect Strokes Universal Volumizing Mascara | $33
Selena says that no eye look is complete without a good mascara and we couldn't agree more. When creating this product, Selena and the Rare Beauty team considered every type of eyelash from straight to super curly. So you should be able to achieve super dark and thick-looking lashes with this mascara, no matter what lash type you're blessed with.
Accessible option
Sadly, you can't get your paws on this mascara in Australia. For inky and voluminous lashes, I'd recommend the Flower Lash Warrior Mascara in Fiercest Black. It's onl $9.99. No, that's not a typo.
10. Rare Beauty Stay Vulnerable Melting Cream Blush | $21
Selena already has the cutest cheeks in showbiz, but she gives them a smattering of blush using a the Rare Beauty Stay Vulnerable Melting Cream Blush. It also comes in 5 shades, but she uses the Nearly Mauve to match her lids. Similar to the liquid shadow, the cream blush applies quite opaque at first but Selena uses a big blush brush to blend it out.
11. Make Up For Ever Pro Bronze Fusion Bronzer | $42.70
Having learned from her fake tan faux pas at the Met Gala, she uses a little bit of Make Up Forever bronzer across her cheeks and jaw line to get that sun-kissed look.
12. Rare Beauty Positive Light Liquid Luminizer | $38
Selena adds a touch of highlighter to her cheekbones, nose and cupid's bow using the Rare Beauty Positive Light Liquid Luminizer. It's available in 7 shades, but her fave is Mesmerize which has a stunning metallic pink and gold hue.
13. Rare Beauty Lip Soufflé Matte Cream Lipstick | $34
Her lipstick of choice is the Rare Beauty Lip Souffle Matte Cream Lipstick, which is super pigmented and creamy. It's available in 11 shades but once again Selena goes for trusty mauve to tie the whole look together.
14. Rare Beauty Stay Vulnerable Glossy Lip Balm | $30
Selena tops up her luscious lip look with the Rare Beauty Stay Vulnerable Glossy Lip Balm in, you guessed it, mauve.
15. Rare Beauty Always An Optimist 4-In-1 Mist | $42
As the final step, she sets her look with a healthy spritz of the Rare Beauty Always An Optimist 4-in-1 Prime & Set Mist.
Affordable option
If you're looking for a more affordable spritz to finish your lewk, sub in the Maybelline Lasting Fix Setting Spray ($17.95) instead.
