Expert review

The NAB Qantas Rewards Signature has one of the biggest bonus Qantas Points offers on the market right now, with 110,000 bonus points up for grabs if you keep the card for at least 13 months. To give you an idea of your points potential, you could book a round trip from Melbourne to Auckland in business class (83,000) or redeem them for $500 worth of Woolworths WISH digital gift cards through the Qantas Store (103,500 points for two $250 gift cards).

To get 90,000 of these bonus points, you’ll need to spend $3,000 on eligible purchases within the first 60 days of account opening. You then need to keep the account open for over 12 months (paying the second year’s annual fee) in order to get the other 20,000 bonus Qantas Points.

How to apply

If you’ve compared your options and decided the NAB Qantas Rewards Signature card is right for you, make sure you meet the eligibility requirements and organise the necessary information before you apply.

Eligibility criteria

  • New cardholder. To be eligible for the bonus points, you must be a new customer, meaning you cannot hold or have held a NAB Qantas rewards card in the previous 12 months.
  • Residency. You can apply if you're an Australian citizen or permanent resident. If you are not a citizen or permanent resident, you will need to have an acceptable visa. Many visas are acceptable but the following are not: Visitor Visa (exception, a Special Category Visa - NZ Citizen is acceptable), Working Holiday, Student, Exchange/gap year, Transit/short stay/seasonal, and Bridging.

Card benefits

  • Up to 110,000 bonus Qantas Points. You can give your points balance a boost of 90,000 bonus Qantas Points when you apply, get approved and spend $3,000 on everyday purchases within 60 days of opening the account. These points will be credited to your account within 3 months of meeting the spend requirement. The other 20,000 bonus points will be credited in the 13th month when you’ve kept your account open.
  • Reduced first-year annual fee. Save $100 with a reduced $295 annual fee for the first year, reverting to $395 p.a. thereafter.

Rates & fees

  • Annual fee. Outside of any promotions, this card charges a standard annual fee of $395 p.a.
  • Purchase rate. Purchases will collect interest at a rate of 19.99% p.a.

Is the first year annual fee charged upon issuing of the credit card or at the end of the first year?

      Hi Candice,

      Thanks for your comment.

A reduced annual card fee of $295 will be charged at the time of account opening. This applies for the first 12 statement months. Cardholders will be charged the standard $395 annual card fee thereafter.

As a friendly reminder, check the eligibility requirements of the card before proceeding with your application. Also, read about its features and benefits and see how it fits your financial needs. Additionally, it’s helpful to review the PDS and Terms & Conditions of the card before fully committing to the card. You may also reach out to the bank if you have any clarifications.

Hope this helps and feel free to reach out to us again for further assistance.

      With care,
      Nikki

Hi. I have a NAB Qantas rewards signature card, and have spent over $4000 in less than 60 days. The 60 days was up over 2 months ago, and as yet no points have been awarded. How long should I expect to wait, and who should I contact if no points are awarded. Thank You.

      Hello Brian,

      Thank you for your comment.

Sorry to hear about you not receiving the bonus points yet. If you have applied and approved within the offer period and you have spent $4,000 on everyday purchases within 60 days of opening your account, then you are eligible for the bonus points. The points will be credited to your points balance within 3 months of meeting the spend criteria.

      Regards,
      Jhezelyn

What constitutes “everyday purchases”? Would paying business purchases constitute “everyday purchases” i.e. if we paid our business expenses such as stock purchases would this qualify for the Qantas bonus points?

      Hi Greg,

      Thank you for reaching out.

Everyday purchases are those where payments made aren’t processed as cash advances or made through BPAY or over the counter at a bank. Other exclusions include card fees and charges, gambling and gaming costs, government fees and charges, business expenses, ATO payments, fraudulent transactions, refunded transactions, balance transfers and travellers cheques. This means that buying stocks for your business is not considered as an eligible purchase and will not qualify for earning bonus points.

      Kind Regards,
      Mai

      Hi Traveller,

Thank you for reaching out to Finder.

The NAB website does not specify that this promotion is available as of now, if you have seen this promotions somewhere you may need to directly contact NAB to confirm if this is still active and current. Hope this helps!

      Cheers,
      Reggie

I’m currently a NAB Visa credit card cardholder linked to Virgin but would like to also have a NAB Visa Credit card linked to Qantas.

Am I still eligible for the bonus points?

      Hi Jarad,

Thank you for getting in touch with Finder.

So long that you haven’t received NAB Qantas Rewards Bonus Points then you’d be eligible for the bonus points. You will be redirected to NAB’s official page after clicking the go to site button on this page, where you may apply for this card. Kindly go through the ‘Important information’ part of the page and make sure though to read the eligibility criteria, features and details of the card, as well as the relevant PDS/ T&Cs of the card before making a decision and consider whether the product is right for you.

      I hope this helps.

Thank you and have a wonderful day!

      Cheers,
      Jeni
