  Hello! We're Finder, Australia's biggest comparison site! 👋 Founded in 2006, we understand that making everyday life decisions like finding a credit card, buying a home and getting health insurance can be daunting.

  The Finder app is the next-gen in financial comparison, effortlessly managing your money in the palm of your hand. Track your spending, see your credit score each month, get unique savings insights and see all your accounts in one place. We're constantly adding new features to help you save more money and make better financial decisions.

• What makes the Finder app different?

  The Finder app has a bunch of great features that we know you'll love:

  • You can connect and see all your accounts in one place, including savings and transaction accounts, investments, credit cards and superannuation.
  • We're game-changers. We were the first to launch the chance-of-approval feature for personal loans in an app, and we're the first to ever launch this feature for credit cards.
  • You can see unique savings insights that could help you save money on your energy, broadband, mobile phone, savings accounts, health insurance, loans and credit cards.
  • Members can compare heaps of products from our app and access all our awesome content too.

Getting started

• What do I need to get started?

  You'll need a phone and a bank account – it's that simple. Once you connect one of your accounts, we'll be able to give you unique insights and let you know where you can save money. You can also take this one step further and connect your investments, loans, savings and even your credit score. This unlocks even more insights and more capability from the app.

• How do I connect my bank account to Finder?

  1. Head to the "Products and Bills" tab, click the "+" and select "Connect a new account". Find the account you want to connect by using the search box or scrolling through the list and click on it.
  2. Pop in your customer ID and your password. This will be the same details you use in your online banking login. (Remember, we only use these to access your information within the app; this is a secure process and we can't make payments.)
  3. Your account should be connected now. It may take a few minutes to initially sync your data, then you're good to go!

• Does it cost anything to use the Finder app?

  Absolutely not. We're a completely free service, and there are no in-app purchases or fees. We're nice like that.

• How does Finder make money?

  At Finder, we're committed to providing you with free, current and accurate information to help you make better decisions. Making that happen involves the work of hundreds of staff members and the use of complex technology. To do that, we rely on the support of our readers and our commercial partners to help us meet the costs of delivering our services to you.

  When you connect your transaction bank account, you unlock a bunch of benefits that make the Finder app what it really is. This includes features such as spend analytics, unique savings insights that can help save you even more money, bill tracking, cash position and more.

• What are the benefits of getting my credit score through the Finder app?

  When you get your credit score through the Finder app, you'll unlock a bunch of extra benefits that are great for you and your financial health. You'll get your credit score automatically updated every month, and you'll be notified if there's a change on your report. We'll also give you tips and tricks on how to improve your score.

  Getting your credit score through the Finder app also unlocks one of our coolest features – chance of approval. Our chance-of-approval feature takes your credit score and asks you a few questions to help determine how likely you are to be approved for a credit card or personal loan before you even apply.

• How do I get my credit score on the Finder app?

  Getting your credit score through the Finder app is pretty easy.

  1. Sign in to your account. If you've gotten your credit score through the Finder web experience, then make sure you use the same email to create your account.
  2. Scroll down to the credit score section on the home page, and click "Connect account".
  3. Follow the prompts on the page. Just a heads up that you'll need a driver's licence to verify your identity.
  4. Voila! You should now have your credit score through the Finder app. If you encounter a problem, shoot a message over to [email protected] or simply two-finger swipe right to left on the app to leave us feedback.

• Why can't I connect my neobank to Finder?

  This one's quite a technical question. Long story short, it comes down to why neobanks are neobanks – basically, it's because they only operate on mobile. This means that in the absence of special data feeds from these banks (which we're waiting on), apps like ours have no way of connecting to them using existing methods.

• Why isn't my bank supported?

  You can connect to over one hundred different banks using the Finder app, but we know this might not include your bank. We are working hard every day to connect to more and more banks, so bear with us!

Making the most of the app

• What do the graphs on the dashboard mean?

  The first graph you'll see on your dash is your cash position. This is your available cash minus your credit card debt. So if you have $1,000 in the bank but a $50 balance on your credit card, your cash position would be $950.

  If you don't have a credit card attached, this will just show the available money in your account and how it has fluctuated throughout the last 30 days.

  If you toggle to the second graph, you'll be able to see your investments accounts. This plots the total value of your connected investment accounts, including your superannuation accounts.

  You'll also be able to see your spending in a graph further below under "Spending this month". This highlights how much money you've spent this month as well as where you're spending it.

• What can I expect to see in the savings tab?

  The savings tab is where your unique savings insights can be found. This is where we'll dig into your products and see if we can find you any savings. You'll be able to access savings insights for your energy, broadband, mobile phone, health insurance, loans and credit cards. To make sure all of these are being pulled, just make sure you've connected the bank account you pay your bills with.

  When you unlock a savings insight, you'll be able to see how much you currently pay on a bill, and how much you could potentially save. We do this by asking you a few questions about your product (your mobile phone plan, for instance) and then looking through our database for comparable products.

• What is spend analytics?

  Spend analytics is a cool feature that will tell you how much you're spending and where exactly your money is going. You'll be able to find it on the home screen under "Spending this month".

  Click through and you'll see how much money you've spent this month so far and where that money has gone. We'll categorise your spending under handy areas, including groceries, restaurants & dining out, clothing, healthcare, travel and even purchases for your pets!

  You'll also be able to see how much you're spending month on month – a handy way of seeing if you're keeping to your budget and savings goals.

• What is chance of approval?

  Chance of approval is our handy tool that will let you know the likelihood of you being approved for a credit card or personal loan – all before you even apply!

  To find out your chance of approval, all you have to do is connect your credit score to the Finder app. We'll then use this and ask you a few additional questions to help determine how likely you are to be approved.

  To access the chance-of-approval feature, head to the home screen of the app and select the credit cards or personal loans box at the top. Here, you'll be guided through a quiz. After you've answered a few questions, you'll be taken to a screen with some products listed on it. Just select the section where it asks you if you want to unlock your chance of approval and voila!

• What categories of products can I compare on Finder?

  We can compare over 100+ different categories on the app. Simply click the product you're after and it will redirect you to our dedicated page on our site.

  If you're after a more personalised experience, we offer seven savings insights: credit cards, health insurance, home loans, savings accounts, broadband, mobile plans, energy and balance transfer credit cards.

• How do I use widgets?

  This one is for our iOS friends.

  To get some spiffy widgets on your phone home page, it's pretty similar to how you set up any other widget.

  Cash position on a widget

  1. Tap and hold an app or anywhere on the screen of your iPhone running iOS14 to edit your homepage.
  2. Tap the plus icon found at the top right.
  3. Search for Finder in the widget store.
  4. Select the size graph you want to see in the widget.

  How to stack your cash position and total investment graphs in a widget

  1. Follow the same steps above to add your first graph widget.
  2. Tap and hold the Finder widget you just added.
  3. Click "Edit Finder".
  4. Tap and change the graph.
  5. Repeat steps 1-3 and add the other graph.
  6. Once you have two widgets, you can tap and hold one of the widgets and then drop it over the other one to stack them.
  7. Finished! You can now cycle through the graphs at any time during the day without needing to open the app.

Security

• Why do I need to provide my bank login information?

  To connect your account, you'll need to log in through an online portal, which will give us read-only access to your data. We use this data to inform your savings insights, spend analytics and your top-level view of your accounts.

• How can I delete my account?

  To delete your account, you'll have to jump onto our website. Log in to your account on our website and then head to settings and click delete.

• Where can I read Finder's terms of use and privacy policy?

  To access our terms of use and privacy policy, just go to the Finder app, select Settings and scroll down. They're both right there at the end!
