Am I eligible for the 100,000 points if I opt for the balance transfer, pay off the balance transfer immediately within the 1st month and spend $5000 within first 90 days? Also, if I pay the annual fee of $444 for the 2nd year and decide to close the card am I eligible for refund of annual fee prorate?

      Hi Kenneth,

Thank you for your question. You will receive 100,000 bonus Qantas Points when you spend a minimum of A$5,000 on your Citi Premier Qantas Card within 90 days from approval. Please note that this is for eligible transactions only. Cash Advances, Balance Transfers, refunds, chargebacks, Special Promotions and spend on a Linked Diners Club Card do not contribute to the spend threshold.

In regard to the prorated annual fee refund, there’s no confirmation from the Citi website if they’re still doing this if you decide you want to close the credit card. You may need to contact Citi directly to confirm this.

Please make sure to read the eligibility criteria, features and details of the policy, as well as the relevant Product Disclosure Statement PDS/T&C’s of the policy before making a decision and consider whether the product is right for you. If necessary, speak to the insurance brand to verify any details.

Thanks for your message and for contactin finder.

The Citi Signature Visa can give you 2 complimentary lounge visits however this is only for the primary cardholder only. Also, to activate this, you must enroll into your complimentary Priority Pass membership on the Citibank website. The total number of complimentary visits will be reset to two at the beginning of each membership year while you remain a Citi Rewards Signature Credit Cardholder. I’m interested in applying for a Citi Qantas Signature Credit Card and get the 50k Qantas points.

I’d also like to avail of the 0% balance transfer. I understand that I need to spend of $2k to qualify for the 50k Wantas points, will that invalidate the 0% balance transfer rate even if I make the minimum monthly payment required for the balance transfer and also pay for new purchases in full amount?

      Hi MA,

      Thank you for your inquiry.

If you are approved for the Citi Qantas Signature Credit Card, you can actually request for a BT and take advantage of the 0% p.a. interest for 6 months and you can still use the card for new purchases while on BT promotion. However, please keep in mind that if you are using up the 80% of the available credit limit for the BT of your, you may also have to allot more than $2,000 of your credit limit so that you can still meet the spending criteria of $2,000 to qualify for the 50,000 bonus Qantas Points.

Your approved credit limit will come into play in this scenario to accommodate the balance/debt you want to transfer and the $2,000 spending criteria. The higher the credit limit you have, the better. Please also note that your credit limit will be determined by Citibank depending on their assessment of your ability to repay credit by taking into account your income, assets, other liabilities and even credit history.

For your new purchases, you should pay them in full at the payment due date so that you won’t be charged 20.99% p.a. interest in your next billing.

      Cheers,

I just want to confirm my third party car insurance will not count towards bonus points spend?
Do water corporation bills count paid by direct debit from the credit card?

      Hi Jess,

      Thanks for your question.

Yes, payments to insurance are not considered as eligible purchases so you cannot earn points for that transaction. Corporation water bills through direct debit, on the other hand, may be considered as eligible purchases, so you can earn points on this.

I got issued with a supplementary card through my partner but I noticed that the account number is different to her. Do I need to give my Qantas Frequent Flyer to get the points associated with the expenditure or all the points will go to her QFF program.

    Thanks!

      Hi Brewster,

      Thank you for your inquiry.

The Qantas Points earned from purchases made by using the supplementary card will go to the Qantas Frequent Flyer account of the primary cardholder. It may be possible that you might only have a different card number but it should still be associated with the account of the primary cardholder since that is a supplementary card.

Please get in touch with Citibank to verify if the account number of that card is indeed associated with your partner’s account.

      Cheers,
      Jason
