Expert review

The ANZ Frequent Flyer Black credit card offers one of the highest bonus Qantas Points promotions on the market. To give you an idea of the value of these points, you could get two return business class flights between Sydney and Adelaide (110,400 Qantas Points), a return business class flight between Brisbane and Perth (83,000 Qantas Points) or $600 of Woolworths digital gift cards (118,470 points for two $250 cards and one $100 card). When it comes time to travel, the Qantas Club lounge passes and complimentary travel insurance will come in handy.

When you meet the same spend requirement for the bonus points, you'll also get $200 back onto your card, helping to offset the $425 annual fee. However, unlike the annual fee, the cashback is a one-time offer.

How to apply

You can apply for the ANZ Frequent Flyer Black card in around 5 minutes and expect a response within 60 seconds. Before you apply, check if you meet the eligibility criteria and have the necessary details to complete the application.

Eligibility criteria

  • New cardholder. The bonus points and cashback offer is only available to new ANZ Frequent Flyer customers who haven't opened or closed another ANZ Frequent Flyer account within the previous 12 months.
  • Residency requirement. Citizens and permanent residents of Australia are eligible to apply. If you are a non-Australian permanent resident, you must have an eligible working or business visa with at least 9 months remaining.

Card benefits

  • $200 back. You'll get $200 back to your new ANZ Frequent Flyer Black card when you apply, are approved and spend $3,000 on eligible purchases within the first 3 months.
  • Bonus Qantas Points. Apply for a new ANZ Frequent Flyer Black card, get approved and spend $3,000 on eligible purchases within the first 3 months from approval to earn a bonus 120,000 Qantas Points. The bonus points will be credited to your Qantas Frequent Flyer account within 3 months of the spend requirement being met.

Rates & fees

  • Annual fee. This card charges a standard annual fee of $425, of which $370 is an annual account fee and $55 goes towards a rewards program services fee.
  • Interest rates. The ANZ Frequent Flyer Black charges a variable purchase rate of 20.24% p.a. and a variable cash advance rate of 20.24% p.a.

Hi, I already have 2 anz business one rewards cards. Can I apply for this for personal? So I can spend my monthly living costs on this and accumulate points like I do in business.

      Hi Nick,

Thanks for your comment. I hope you are doing well!

As it says on the ANZ Frequent Flyer Black Credit Card Terms and Conditions, this offer is not available where you currently hold an ANZ Frequent Flyer, ANZ Frequent Flyer Gold, ANZ Frequent Flyer Platinum, or ANZ Frequent Flyer Black credit card, or have closed, or qualified for bonus Qantas Points or a credit back on, any of those ANZ Frequent Flyer credit cards within the previous 12 months.

You may continue to search for other frequent flyer credit cards with bonus points. You will find a table that compares the features and benefits of each credit card bonus point, frequent flyer program, points per spend, annual fees, and interest rates. This way it will be easier for you to see which provider fits you best. If you need further help, a quick guide on how to compare frequent flyer credit cards is also stated on the page.

As a friendly reminder, carefully review the eligibility criteria of the loan before applying to increase your chances of approval. Read up on the terms and conditions and product disclosure statement and contact the bank should you need any clarifications about the policy. When you are ready, press the ‘Go to site’ button to apply.

Hope this helps and feel free to reach out to us again for further assistance.

      With care,
      Nikki

      Hi Brooke,

Thank you for getting in touch with Finder.

I’m afraid that you may not be eligible to get an ANZ Frequent Flyer Black credit card if you currently hold an ANZ Frequent Flyer, ANZ Frequent Flyer Gold, ANZ Frequent Flyer Platinum or ANZ Frequent Flyer Black credit card. I suggest that you contact ANZ directly to verify if you may apply for this card given that you have an existing ANZ credit card.

      I hope this helps.

Thank you and have a wonderful day!

      Cheers,
      Jeni

      Hi Ian,

Thank you for getting in touch with Finder.

You may start comparing business credit cards earning frequent flyer points. You may compare by looking at their fees, terms, and rates. As of this writing, NAB allows you to earn Qantas FF and would let you earn up to 100,000 bonus Qantas Points when you meet the spend requirement.

You can also check our list of credit cards earning Qantas frequent flyer points.

Once you’ve chosen a provider, you may click the “Go to Site” button to be redirected to their official page where you can check more details or start your application. Please make sure though to read the eligibility criteria, features, and details of the card, as well as the relevant PDS/ T&Cs of the card before making a decision and consider whether the product is right for you.

      I hope this helps.

Thank you and have a wonderful day!

      Cheers,
      Jeni

What are the $4000 eligible purchases to qualify for the points?
    The $200 back is unconditional?

      Hi Marv,

      Thanks for your question.

Eligible purchase means purchases which are eligible to earn Points. Purchases which are not eligible to earn Points are fees, cash, cash equivalent transactions, balance transfers, and transactions for gambling or gaming purposes. This is described in the ANZ Frequent Flyer Reward Terms and Conditions.

Regarding the Cashback offer. You’ll get $200 back to your new ANZ Frequent Flyer Black card when you spend $4,000 on eligible purchases within the first 3 months.

As a friendly reminder, review the eligibility requirements before proceeding with your application. Also, read about it’s features and benefits and see how it fits your financial needs. Additionally, it’s helpful to review the PDS and Terms & Conditions of the card before fully committing to the card. You may also reach out to the bank if you have any clarifications.

      Hope this has helped!

      Best,
