How do I use my Amazon promo code?
Reasons a coupon may not work:
- The code was entered incorrectly or did not match the original
- The items are not eligible for the discount or are not sold by amazon.com.
- The sale offer has already ended or is not available in your country.
Note: If you are part way through order and get to the checkout, where you enter and apply your promo code, but do not submit your order, the code will stay on your account. This allows you to come back at any time while the code is valid and complete your order and any subsequent orders.

Pros and Cons of shopping online at Amazon
Pros:
- Buy now and pay later through Zip Pay. If you're looking to split the total cost of your order into instalments Amazon has you covered.
- Peace of mind - when you order through Amazon.com.au, even if the item is coming from another merchant, you can trust that you will receive your products as described and on time. Due to the size, brand and reputation Amazon has and wishes to maintain, you can trust that your Amazon order will arrive.
- Secure transaction - Amazon power their own payment processing system and this lives up to the expectations of customers ensuring your details are held safely. The payment system is also very easy to use making it an obvious choice.
- Gigantic range - Amazon has an unbelievable range of products available to purchase.
- Too easy - the search facility offered on Amazon is second to none and really makes it easy to find the products you are after.
Cons:
- These may seem petty, but some users are against shopping with Amazon as they believe they have too much market power. While this works favourably for the end consumer who gets to purchase items at great prices, some suppliers may not see it the same way.
- Those who love to read hard copy novels may also see Amazon as a threat to the printed book and magazine industry, with the push for the Kindle.
What is Amazon Prime and is it available to Australian customers?
Yes, Amazon Prime is available to Australia customers. It offers a range of benefits, such as access to Prime Music, Prime Instant Video, the Kindle Owners' Lending Library and – of course – free two-day shipping.
What's more, Prime members can reap the rewards of Amazon's exclusive sale event, Amazon Prime Day. This two-day sale event sees massive savings across a huge range of product categories, from technology to fashion and everything in between.
What do you need to know about the Amazon Kindle?
The Amazon Kindle is one of the biggest ebook readers on the market. The most recent version comes with a touchscreen display, Wi-Fi and the ability to download books in less than 60 seconds. They're lighter than a paperback, last weeks without recharging and can store thousands of books.
So what's the catch? Due to licensing laws, certain titles that may be available in the US are not always available in Australia. You'll need to make your purchases from Amazon.com.au to ensure the title is available in Australia.

Thanks,

just wondering why amazon is charging me $50 postage. and I have searched hours trying to find a free postage code with no luck. I’m new to amazon and the deals are amazing. HELP.
Hi Justeen,
Thanks for your question.
As Amazon is an American company, many of its shops and sellers are based in the USA which can lead to expensive postage charges to Australia.
Unfortunately, it is rare to find free postage codes or deals to Australia through Amazon. This may change as the Australian market grows but for the meantime you might like to shop around and see if an Australian merchant could offer you the same or a cheaper price with postage included. Some online markets offer price match guarantees, which you might be able to use against the advertised Amazon price.
I hope that helps,
Stephanie
I am an amazon US user and I am now in australia, but I need a product on line. Is a software denominated AVG tune up but I do not see in your on line products. Can you give me any recommendation ?
Your collaboration will be appreciate
Hi Walker,
We’re actually a comparison service, not Amazon themselves. We wouldn’t have any product specific information, you would have to contact them directly.
Amazon Australia only do books, so if you’re looking for software, you may need to look elsewhere i’m afraid.
Thanks,
Clare
you mention that there’s frequent free shipping to Australia promos. I’ve noticed only 1 in the past, but is there a subscription service to be advised when free shipping promos come up? I know you can check back here from time to time, but that’s the only offer I’m interested in and I don’t want to miss the window if the promo doesn’t run for long.
Hi Clay,
Thanks for your question.
I’m sorry, we don’t have a subscription box at the moment running for when there is free shipping with Amazon, you will have to check back here.
However, I have noted your comment and I will look into getting a subscription box made available for this purpose.
Thanks,
Clare
