AAMI Life Insurance Policy Features
You can apply for any of the AAMI life insurance policies without the need for a blood or medical test. Your application is assessed based on your health, age and occupation, which determines your level of risk and how much you pay for your premiums. When you apply for life insurance with AAMI Life, you're entitled to the following features:
Death benefit up to $1,500,000. The death benefit of an AAMI Life insurance policy pays your family a benefit amount if you die.
Terminal illness benefit up to $1,500,000. If you are diagnosed with a terminal illness, your beneficiary can make a claim with AAMI Life and receive a lump sum benefit amount to help you finalise your financial affairs and estate.
Advanced Payout benefit. When an AAMI Life Insurance claim is approved an advanced payout of up to $10,000 can be made available with the balance of the benefit amount payable once AAMI Life has received all of the claims requirements and documentation. The advance payout can help your family with any immediate costs, such as expense of legal fees.
Lifestyle increase benefit. As you move through life, your commitments and obligations change depending which life stage you are in. These life stages range from getting married to having a child, from buying a new home to paying for your children's education. Your AAMI life insurance can take this journey with you. If you are under the age of 60, AAMI Life allows you to increase your benefit amount by $100,000 or 20% of the AAMI Comprehensive Life Cover benefit amount each year following a significant life event and without requiring any new medical information.
Automatic indexation of your benefit amount. AAMI Life automatically increases your benefit amount by the CPI or 5%, whichever is greater. This keeps your benefit amount relevant to current costs at the time of the payout.
AAMI Income Protection Insurance
AAMI's income protection insurance product pays a benefit of up to $10,000 per month to help you maintain your household cash-flow if you are unable to work because of illness or injury. You can choose a benefit period up to 5 years. You don't have to have any medical tests, and you can pay your premiums fortnightly, monthly or annually.
Features of AAMI Income Protection Insurance
Benefit of up to $10,000. In the event that you are forced to take time out of work as a result of injury or illness, AAMI Life will provide up to 75% of your income to a maximum of $10,000 a month.
Choice of four benefit period options. AAMI Life offers either a 6-, 12-, 24-month or 5-year benefit period. One year benefit periods can bring attractive premium discounts.
Waiver of premiums during waiting period. Benefit payments will commence after just 30 days and AAMI Life will waive your premium payments during this period.
Limited medical underwriting. In comparison to many other insurance policies, AAMI Life does not require applicants to undertake any medical or blood tests to purchase cover.
Cooling-off period. All AAMI Life policies offer a 30-day cooling-off period, giving you the opportunity to cancel your policy and receive a full premium refund if you are not satisfied with the cover provided, as long as you haven't made a claim.
Guaranteed cover to 65. AAMI Income protection is guaranteed to remain in force until your 65th birthday, regardless of whether or not your health deteriorates, as long as you continue to pay your premiums when due.
Benefit indexation. Your AAMI income protection policy increases automatically each year to ensure it remains in line with inflation.

Important information about this website
finder.com.au is one of Australia's leading comparison websites. We compare from a wide set of banks, insurers and product issuers. We value our editorial independence and follow editorial guidelines.
finder.com.au has access to track details from the product issuers listed on our sites. Although we provide information on the products offered by a wide range of issuers, we don't cover every available product or service.
Please note that the information published on our site should not be construed as personal advice and does not consider your personal needs and circumstances. While our site will provide you with factual information and general advice to help you make better decisions, it isn't a substitute for professional advice. You should consider whether the products or services featured on our site are appropriate for your needs. If you're unsure about anything, seek professional advice before you apply for any product or commit to any plan.
Products marked as 'Promoted' or 'Advertisement' are prominently displayed either as a result of a commercial advertising arrangement or to highlight a particular product, provider or feature. Finder may receive remuneration from the Provider if you click on the related link, purchase or enquire about the product. Finder's decision to show a 'promoted' product is neither a recommendation that the product is appropriate for you nor an indication that the product is the best in its category. We encourage you to use the tools and information we provide to compare your options.
Where our site links to particular products or displays 'Go to site' buttons, we may receive a commission, referral fee or payment when you click on those buttons or apply for a product. You can learn more about how we make money here.
When products are grouped in a table or list, the order in which they are initially sorted may be influenced by a range of factors including price, fees and discounts; commercial partnerships; product features; and brand popularity. We provide tools so you can sort and filter these lists to highlight features that matter to you.
We try to take an open and transparent approach and provide a broad-based comparison service. However, you should be aware that while we are an independently owned service, our comparison service does not include all providers or all products available in the market.
Some product issuers may provide products or offer services through multiple brands, associated companies or different labelling arrangements. This can make it difficult for consumers to compare alternatives or identify the companies behind the products. However, we aim to provide information to enable consumers to understand these issues.
Providing or obtaining an estimated insurance quote through us does not guarantee you can get the insurance. Acceptance by insurance companies is based on things like occupation, health and lifestyle. By providing you with the ability to apply for a credit card or loan, we are not guaranteeing that your application will be approved. Your application for credit products is subject to the Provider's terms and conditions as well as their application and lending criteria.
